The Atlas Mountains, a mythical massif deeply rooted in the Berber cultures of the Maghreb, have given rise to generations of stories and representations. In both Tunisia and Morocco, each community has shaped its own imaginary of the mountains. Despite their differences, these narratives share recurring motifs: figures of elevation, trial, refuge, or transmission. From this common fabric emerge the contours of an archetype.
Opus III seeks to map these symbolic lines through field research and the development of a multimedia corpus combining oral testimonies, archives, audiovisual recordings and
topographical surveys. The resulting work aims to give rise to a sensitive and fragmentary representation of the Atlas Mountains, conceived as a ritual, cosmological and imaginary space.
