Haythem Zakaria

Haythem Zakaria’s work explores the intersection of aesthetics, spirituality, and epistemology.

Influenced by cosmogony and Sufi thought, he uses unconventional visual techniques and matrix-based protocols to create multi-dimensional visual and sonic universes.

His formally minimal works unfold like visual scores, rewarding attentive viewers with layered complexity.

His art has been shown at documenta fifteen, the Venice Biennale, Japan Media Arts Festival (Grand Prize, 2018), and the Diriyah Art Futures among numerous others.

He also collaborated on the film The Last of Us by Ala Eddine Slim (Lion of the Future, Venice Film Festival 2017).

Born in Tunis, he lives and works between Paris and Tunis.
