The short film revisits the dispossession of the Nubian people resulting from the construction of the Aswan High Dam in 1964, which severed their close bond with the Nile and their ancestral land. Their stories are eroding under layers of modern infrastructure and displacement.

Drawing on the cosmology in Nubian writer Haggag Oddoul’s short story The People of the River, the poetic work explores a worldview rooted in deep, reciprocal relationships between humans, land, water, and all kinds of beings.
