Philip Rizk
Philip Rizk works mainly in video and text, where he experiments with methods of “making the habitual strange”. His films include Out on the Street (with Jasmina Metwaly), Mapping Lessons, and Terror Tales.
He is a member of the Mosireen collective behind the video archive collection 858.ma, and has publications including 2011 is not 1968: A letter to an Onlooker, the co-authored book On Trials: : A Manual on the Theatre of Law and the upcoming edited volume Neocolonialism and its Dismantling.
Rizk regularly teaches in academic and workshop settings.
Born in Limassol, he lives and works between Cairo and Berlin.
