After creating the solo "I Am Not White" in 2023, Cyrinne Douss continues her exploration of the depths of identity by questioning the female body this time around. By exploring its multiple dimensions, Cyrinne allows herself to be traversed by the voices from within and without, from before and after, from here and now, and from elsewhere. Listening, she becomes the vessel of ancestral memories and their legacies. Both witness and accomplice, the artist, musician, and composer Benjemy accompanies her on this journey. Together, they weave a score where music and dance, bodies and voices intertwine. Asswat embodies a new kind of rite of passage where tensions, struggles, and celebrations are all intertwined.
