Qismi Al Ahla: launch of workshops with school children
When and where?
The Qismi Al Ahla programme is supported by funds from the German Federal Foreign Office through the ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), a zivik funding programme, and in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Education.
Children from primary schools in Kebili, Feriana, Gabes and Makthar have started since the end of January the mediation, democracy education and architectural design workshops of the Qismi Al Ahla creative spaces in their schools.
These workshops led by L'Art Rue's regional partner associations, Media and Youth Animation (AMAJ), Revival, Focus Gabès and ADO+ consist of raising children's awareness of the notions of democracy in order to elect a group of schoolchildren representative of each level, a group that will be associated with each stage of the transformation of their school.
From civic education workshops to the children's elections, through architectural design workshops that stimulate their creativity to imagine their new space according to their experiences and activities, to the setting up of a children's jury that will choose the design project for their school, Qismi Al Ahla is a federative and citizen project to create the best classroom democratically.
