A Call for Sound Creation at the Heart of Transitional Territories
As it enters its second phase, the Slash Transition program has launched a new call for applications, targeting sound artists living in Austria, France, Georgia, Portugal, or Tunisia. This experimental European project, co-funded by Creative Europe, spans four years and explores the role artists can play in the transformation of territories.
How can sound accompany social, ecological, or urban transitions? How can an artistic practice be embedded in a more sustainable process?

Selected artists will benefit from:
• a 10-day immersive training program in Nantes, focused on the themes of transition,
• a creative residency in one of the partner countries during the first half of 2026,
• a final presentation at the project's European convention in Lisbon in October 2026.

Applications are open until May 31, 2025, via the official Slash platform.

First Local Hub Meeting at L’Art Rue

Alongside the launch of this international call, L’Art Rue—Slash Transition’s partner in Tunisia—hosted the first meeting of the Local Hub on May 9, 2025. This multidisciplinary group of experts—Sihame Lamine, Alia Sellami, Yefa Saidi, Aly Mrabet, Jamila Binous, and Aziz Ghariani—was brought together to begin a collective reflection on the residency territory.

Their mission: to draft a sensitive and contextualized roadmap that will be shared with the artist selected for the residency in Tunis. This document is not intended to steer the artistic process, but rather to offer a reading of the territory through intersecting perspectives—social, artistic, environmental, political, and cultural.

Through this dual momentum—an international open call and strong local anchoring—Slash Transition reaffirms the importance of building bridges between contemporary creation and a shared understanding of societal transformation, to nurture artistic practices deeply in tune with their time.
