IN SITU – Open Call #3

Supporting Emerging Artistic Creation in Public Space

A new call for projects by Tunisian and European artists

L’Art Rue, a partner of the European IN SITU platform and its representative in Tunisia, is sharing the third open call of the IN SITU PLATFORM 2025–2028 programme, which supports emerging artistic practices in public space.

Led by Lieux Publics, the IN SITU platform brings together 27 international partners who have been supporting artists working in public spaces and unconventional venues for over twenty years. Through this new call, the platform continues its commitment to artists by providing resources, opportunities for exchange and support to help them develop their projects and connect with the wider European arts scene.

For L’Art Rue, this collaboration with Lieux Publics builds on a long-standing commitment: supporting new artistic approaches, accompanying projects as they take shape, and bringing the voices of Tunisia’s emerging artists to audiences beyond its borders.

Three open calls, projects taking shape

The first two calls have already enabled Tunisian artists to take important steps in developing their work.

Selected through the first call, the Tunisian collective ROOF was able to complete its project Guarret el Anz, which premiered at FiraTàrrega in Spain in 2026.

Following the second call, Afef Omri is currently receiving support to further develop her project Audioclopedia, with the aim of completing it ahead of its presentation at the HAPU Festival in Pristina in 2027.

These journeys show what international networks can make possible: giving projects the time and support they need to grow, opening up new spaces for exchange, and creating opportunities to connect with

different artistic scenes and audiences.

What support will selected artists receive?

Selected artists will benefit from several forms of support between March and September 2027.

An online preparation programme – March to June 2027

A series of resources and exchange opportunities exploring artistic creation in public space. This includes peer-to-peer sessions with experienced artists, learning materials and support sessions with the On the Move network.

An international immersive lab – May to September 2027

A six-day seminar hosted as part of an event or festival organised by an IN SITU partner. Around fifteen artists will take part in workshops, meet European programmers and cultural professionals, discover different artistic practices and present their projects.

For each immersive lab, IN SITU provides a €1,500 writing fee (including taxes), round-trip travel costs of up to €300 for air travel, accommodation and meals.

Visibility across the European arts scene

Selected projects will be featured in the IN SITU online catalogue, which connects artists with programmers and cultural professionals in Europe and internationally.

At the end of this process, around ten projects may also receive further support through production residencies. This additional support is not automatic and will be subject to a separate selection process.

This call is part of the IN SITU Platform programme, supported by Creative Europe.
