As a teenager, Pepe Elmas evolved in the hip hop dance scene in Kinshasa. He then discovered contemporary dance, and after a few years started to create his own works. It is not the 'events with capital E' that catch his attention but rather phenomena that he observes in his daily life. He creates collective works in which every dancer is prominently involved.
