L'Art Rue and Shubbak Festival
The Festival d'Art en dans la Cité, Dream City, is the guest of the Shubbak Festival from 7 to 9 July 2017 in Dalston, a district of Hackney in north-east London in the UK.
As part of its 2017 collaboration with two influential festivals in the Arab region to imagine new responses to local contexts, Shubbak invited dancers and choreographers Selma and Sofiane Ouissi (founders of Dream City) to commission a series of interventions for Dalston.
The works explore a neighbourhood faced with rapid economic development, fragile existences and hidden histories.
