What if the desert was a school? A geography of silence, where each grain of sand whispers an ancient knowledge? Magec / the Desert traverses the arid landscapes of the Sahara, the Thar, and the Central Asian steppes, to reexamine our connection to nature, to wisdom, and to all things that escape our control.
Radouan Mriziga composes a choreographic score woven with rhythms, light, and memory. The desert is not empty: it is density, presence, poetry. A land of slowness, interconnection — and resistance. Where silence is believed in, and different forms of knowledge and survival arise. Another way of inhabiting the world.
Drawing inspiration from the artisanal, musical, and spiritual practices of desert peoples, the artwork becomes a meditation in motion, a polyphony of gestures, sounds, and stories. In this sensitive choreography, humanity becomes humble, and nature once again becomes the guide. Magec invites us to slow down, to listen to what the earth has to say. An essential pause. A return to the Elementary.
