Ali Eyal’s practice moves between personal history and transitory memory. His work, mainly drawing, expands into installations, photography, text, and video. 

The two works use fragments of personal objects and emotionally significant traces of family memories such as a letter left inside a book, a music score, or a note on the back of a photograph that cannot be seen. Images embedded within images refract the fragmentary experience of great catastrophes such as the U.S.- led sanctions and invasion of Iraq.
