In these works, Walid Raad joins forces with Palestinian artist Suha Traboulsi, drawing viewers back to her evocative six-week sojourn in Tunis during the 1980s. Raad concentrates on a series of enigmatic paintings and an equally uncanny sketchbook—artistic relics that engrossed Traboulsi throughout that transformative summer, and now invite us to consider the narratives they withhold and the recollections they summon.
