Radouan Mriziga

Radouan Mriziga, an artist from Marrakech now based in Brussels, developed a unique voice in contemporary dance after studying in Marrakech, Tunisia, and at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels.

His early trilogy—55 (2014), 3600 (2016), and 7 (2017)—explores polyrhythms and non-binary rhythms in temporary geometric contexts, merging concrete and imaginary spaces. These works established his signature style and have toured widely, with performances at the Festival d’Automne, Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Tanz im August, and Festival TransAmériques.

Mriziga has also collaborated on notable projects with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and others. His recent work explores Amazigh mythology, including the trilogy TafuktAyurand Akal. In 2023, he began a new trilogy—Atlas / the MountainMagec / the Desert, and Awessu / the Sea. His works continue to be presented globally, including at Dream City, Walker Art Center, and PACT Zollverein.

With Magec / The Desert, Radouan Mriziga returns to Tunis for the fourth time, once again with a creation presented at Dream City. After Ayur, Libya, and The Mountain (a solo performed by the artist), all created in Tunis, Magec / The Desert was also mostly rehearsed there. After being shown at Kunstenfestivaldesarts and the Festival d’Avignon, the project will have its Tunisian premiere at Dream City 2025.
