Bissan Al Charif
Bissane Al Charif is a Paris-based set designer and independent visual artist. Trained in architecture in Damascus and set design in Nantes, she began her career at the Damascus Opera House before relocating to Paris in 2013.
She collaborates with theatre directors such as Mohammad El Attar, Omar Abusaada (The Factory, 2018; Damascus 2045, 2021), and Laila Soliman (Woman at Point Zero, 2022), while also developing her own multimedia installations and video works.Her projects include Mémoire(s) des Femmes (2015), exhibited internationally, and Sham (2017), presented at the Cité Nationale de l’Histoire de l’Immigration in Paris. In 2019, I once entered a Garden, with Chrystèle Khodr, toured Lebanon, Italy, and the Netherlands.
She is currently contributing to Laila Soliman’s upcoming piece, Story of... (2025).
