ZAT at Cairo Art Book Fair
Open to the general public for three days from 12 to 14 December 2024, the Cairo Art Book Fair (CABF) brings together local and international independent publishers, as well as artists, designers and book distributors, offering a varied selection of art books, magazines and posters from all over the world.
The Cairo Art Book Fair (CABF) also offers a rich public programme of conferences, book launches, round tables and workshops.
As part of the public programme of the Cairo Art Book Fair (CABF), a panel discussion will be held on Friday 13 December at 2pm local time. The event will be hosted by Jan Goossens, co-artistic director of L'Art Rue, and will feature Lina Attalah, Egyptian journalist and contributor to this issue of ZAT, moderated by Sarah Sarofim, curator and author.
Since 2010, ZAT (Zone Artistique Temporaire) has been committed to transforming urban space into a veritable laboratory for artistic experimentation, promoting a collective reappropriation of narratives and spaces. As a critical and constructive platform, the magazine is firmly positioned as a vector of resistance to contemporary social and environmental challenges. Its sixth edition, ‘Testimonies of Resistance’, is built around a multimedia digital platform, rich in interactive formats, highlighting the contributions of 25 artists and activists dedicated to exploring the struggles against colonialism and racism. Available in French, English and Arabic, this edition encourages readers to immerse themselves in a mosaic of narratives and engage in deep reflection on the injustices of our time, while celebrating the diversity of voices speaking out for a better future.
