This project is supported by Tfanen - Tunisie Créative, a project to support the strengthening of the cultural sector, funded by the European Union as part of the Programme d'Appui au Secteur de la Culture en Tunisie (PACT) of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Tunisia. The project is a collaboration of the EUNIC network (National Cultural Institutes of the European Union), implemented by the British Council.
El Miad is a year-long artistic residency by Tunisian artist Nidhal Chamekh, who has brought together a Sans titre collective of individuals who share the same desire to pool their energies and skills around a common dynamic.
To form a collective, a space had to be inhabited, designed and built. This site-based dynamic affirmed the group's desire to experiment, share and perpetuate a place.
The choice of the name Collectif Sans titre reflects the intention to wander, to be mobile, to remain without address, belonging everywhere and nowhere.
The collective has come together around an artistic proposal. This project, which will question the space for public discourse in the street, has become the pretext for the emergence of a group dynamic and the setting up of coherent human and technical resources.
It's about questioning the place of the individual in the territory, its uses, the problems and freedoms that arise, and enabling new social forms that are horizontal and accessible to all, without separations or hierarchies.
But it's not just the result that's of interest, it's above all the process generated and the new behaviours it engenders.
