DIGNITY - Danish Institute Against Torture برنامج الشراكة الدنماركية العربية Danish- Arab Partnership Programme
For this 3rd design and craftsmanship experience of the Sāni` صَانِع, project, children from 10 to 13 years old will work silver with the designer and artist Chems Eddine Mechri in collaboration with a jewel maker craftsman from the heart of the Tunis Medina.
Founder of the ready-to-wear and furniture brand « Né à Tunis », Chems Eddine articulates his approach with young people around a work of research, creation and finally conception. Children therefore create their own object in silver in collaboration with other craftsmen depending on the needs (weavers, potters, carpenters, etc…).
Sāni` صَانِع , is the encounter between a designer, a craftsman and children around a handmade know-how and an object from the Tunisian heritage. This project’s goal is to highlight, through the look and practice of a designer, an intangible heritage by allowing a group of children to discover and practice a handmade trade.
