After completing his play À demain ma mort, about heroic resistance fighters in recent Congolese history, Michael Disanka wondered why it was only about men? Are there no heroines in this story?

Does he, as author and director, confirm the patriarchy that dominates Congolese cultural life?

And what do Congolese women artists have to say about it?

These questions inspired Neci padiri, which can be freely translated as: "Yes, Father".

On stage, four eccentric musicians form a mystical-Christian ensemble seeking to discover the sex of God. Exasperated by the masculine vision in the Bible, the only woman on stage disagrees. But how do you confront the patriarchy that forms the basis of laws and rules? Or: how do you live with prejudices that are so obvious you don't even realise they exist?
