Michael Disanka lives and works in Mbanza Ngungu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2011, he graduated from the Institut National des Arts de Kinshasa and founded the Collectif pluridisciplinaire d'Art-d'Art with several young artists. Author, director and actor, he has created Sept mouvements Congo, Géométrie(s) de vie and The Ghosts Are Returning (with Christiana Tabaro, Eva-Maria Bretschy and Elia Rediger), among others.
