Laaroussa Fragment
Selma & Sofiane Ouissi
Tunis
A shared breath from the hands of Sejnane’s potters.
Laaroussa Fragment opens the doors to a lively workshop, at the heart of the artistic creation of popular spaces initiated by Selma and Sofiane Ouissi. Within this project, the ancestral movements of the potters of Sejnane are celebrated: slow, precise, passed down from mother to daughter, inscribed in both space and time.
The audience is invited to engage with the material, to mold, to learn by doing. It is a fragment, a trace, a space of slowness and attention, where we craft with care. This immersive exhibition extends a gesture passed down from woman to woman and brings it into dialog with other narratives, other sensibilities.
In echo to the choreographic piece Laaroussa Quartet, Laaroussa Fragment blends craftsmanship, transmission, and creation. A dedicated shop will showcase the production of the 60 potters of Sejnane, bearing witness to the quiet strength of their knowledge. Here, art becomes encounter, and matter becomes memory.
