Noor Abuarafeh
Noor Abuarafeh works across video, performance, publications, and installation.
She explores memory, history, and archives, focusing on colonial contexts and the difficulty of representing the past when it remains present. Drawing on storytelling, rumors, and oral accounts, she challenges colonial, object-based history-making.
Her work has been shown at the Venice Biennale, Berlin Biennale, Sharjah Biennale 13, Jakarta Biennale, Qalandia International, De Appel and Art Jameel among others.
She is currently a PhD candidate at the Akademie der bildenden Künste, Vienna, and tutor at the Dutch Art Institute.
Born in Jerusalem, she lives and works between Jerusalem, Rotterdam and Vienna.
