Alla Abdunabi works in sculpture, painting and installation. Her practice explores the material afterlives of objects through storytelling that weaves together the auto-ethnographic, historical, and fictional. 

Informed by research and personal encounters, her work shifts between tactile engagement and narrative construction. Her position within the Libyan diaspora often emerges in her work, reflecting the shifting trajectories of the histories she engages.  

Born in Freiburg, she lives and works in Dubai.
