Amir Sabra

Amir Sabra is a Palestinian dancer and choreographer from Askar refugee camp near Nablus, now based in Ireland. He began as a breakdancer with Hawaieh and later joined productions by les ballets C de la B, KVS, A.M Qattan Foundation, and Pokemon Crew. Inspired by the Samahneh brothers, who blended hip-hop into traditional dabke at weddings, Amir joined the 2015 remake of Badke and helped form the core of the Stereo 48 collective. He started choreographing in 2017 with Hiphopgeez, followed by Journey to Jerusalem (2019), False Awakening (2020), and Floating on the Dead Sea (2021). His solo Within This Party (2022) marked a turning point, and What Did You Do Behind the Curtain won the Technical Prize at Danse élargie (Théâtre de la Ville, Paris). In 2025, with Ata Khatab, he co-directs Badke(remix), a full Palestinian remake of Badke, produced by laGeste and Stereo 48, premiering in June 2025.
