An ecosystem is a set of living presences that interact with each other in a complex way, where every different part is linked in a specific and general way, tracing own experiences and yet interdependent, without a solution of continuity. Ecosystems do not occupy spaces, they create them, draw them in the form of cumulative trans-species and multi-language relationships. His observation is therefore not possible objectively, we cannot organize his description; we must experience it, trace his relationships, tell the many stories he constantly produces.

The Semmama mountain, the village of Ouassaia and the Cultural Centre for Mountain Arts and Crafts constitute a special ecosystem. Shepherds, musicians, rhizomes, hip hop dancers, terrorists, wild rosemary, craftspeople, prickly figs, poets, extinct rivers and clay theatres, each piece is a piece of thread. Semmama, a living rhizome is the attempt to tell this ecosystem through a sensitive and collective mapping, through the experience that it makes its community and its narrative.

From June 2022 to May 2023, an ephemeral community of village inhabitants, artists and scientists worked together through workshops and creative phases, by combining tools, media and languages of expression to reveal a mapping of the ecosystem that links the Cultural Centre, the human and non-human community of Ouassaia and the mountain.
