Recruitment of Production Manager

L'Art Rue is an association that uses art as a tool for dialogue and social and human development. Located in the heart of the Medina of Tunis, in the Koutteb Louzir district, L'Art Rue enables Tunisian and foreign artists to work in contact with the street, the area, its users and its social, economic and cultural problems. For L'Art Rue, schools, squares and cafés are places of engagement where art mobilises, questions and improves. 


In order to better contribute to its objectives, L'Art Rue is recruiting : 


A Production Manager


Who will work alongside the Production Manager and across the other business units.


>> Missions


He/she will manage one or more production projects, monitoring production resources, equipment, logistics, human resources, technical resources and financial resources. He/she will draw up the strategic planning phases and project outlines previously established by him/her, which he/she will submit to the Production Manager. The Production Manager is responsible for the smooth running and successful completion of the projects assigned to him/her.



> >  Main tasks


- Analysing and monitoring production elements from an artistic, technical, administrative and financial point of view.

- Identify production issues and constraints. 

- Draw up a production schedule.

- Drawing up a production cost estimate.

- Ensuring that the production schedule is adhered to.

- Defining and/or monitoring the budget for project production and producing financial statements.

- Preparing and monitoring all the stages involved in awarding any public contracts relating to the project.

- Monitoring the legal aspects of the project and negotiating the terms where necessary: contracts (author, designer, director, actor, technician, etc.); co-production agreement and production agreement.   

- Coordinate with in-house and external service providers; location scouting; requirements planning; logistics, etc.

- Checking copyrights and other authorisation requests for the use of public spaces or other authorisations to be obtained for the project.

- Checking invoices and expenses in order to draw up a production balance sheet

- Monitor the production phases.

- Deal with unforeseen circumstances and try to avoid overspending on budget or time.

- Coordinating the transmission of information to all those involved at each stage of the project.

- Organising the hire of equipment required for the production.

- Participating in the operational phases (set-up, rehearsals, performances, dismantling, running).

- Ensuring that the finished product meets the initial specifications.

- Occasionally coordinating and managing mixed teams (permanent and temporary staff) and being responsible for safety (applying prevention plans).

- Completing project monitoring and evaluation data and drawing up reports on projects and events organised.

- Ability to listen and engage in dialogue with the project leaders (particularly the artists)

- Diplomacy

- Ability to negotiate with service providers and technical and artistic contributors

- Stress management; ability to work under pressure and urgency

- Organisational skills; ability to manage priorities


Training & Knowledge


- Degree in Audiovisual and/or Cultural Project Management or equivalent

- 5 years' experience in production management (performing arts; cinema)


Technical skills required


- Excellent knowledge of the entire production chain for an artistic work

- Mastery of the costs associated with the means of producing artistic projects

- Excellent ability to analyse an artistic project from the point of view of implementation and production and cost management

- Excellent knowledge of the technical resources available, and of any technical service providers.

- Excellent knowledge of the Tunisian cultural sector and its ecosystem.

- Knowledge of the rates charged and negotiation margins.

- Proficiency in software: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

- Fluency in professional and technical English and French

- Fluency in Arabic
