Tunisia soon before the Human Rights Council: what about individual freedoms and cultural rights?


On the occasion of the Universal Periodic Review of Tunisia, 4th cycle 2022, Tunisian civil society associations and coalitions have submitted their alternative reports and recommendations to the United Nations Human Rights Council. In this context, we invite you to join us on Monday 11 April at 9.30 pm in the framework of the Civic Space dedicated to the Universal Periodic Review of Tunisia 2022 in order to follow the exchanges between our guests around the recommendations made in terms of human rights.



L'Art Rue submitted on 31 March on behalf of the Cultural and Artistic Rights Collective nearly fifty recommendations specific to the cultural sector in Tunisia in the framework of the Alternative Report - Cultural and artistic rights in Tunisia.



About the panelists


Wahid Ferchichi

Wahid Ferchichi is Professor of Law at the University of Carthage. He is currently Director of the Department of Public Law at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of Tunis.


Fatma Fetni

Born in 1996, Fatma Fetni lives and works in Tunis. She Gratduated in public law from the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences in Tunis in 2018. Since then, she has been a researcher in the same field, particularly in Legal History and International Human Rights Law. Currently, she works as a project assistant at the Tunisian Association for the Defense of Individual Liberties.


Mohamed Anoir Zayani

Secretary General of the Tunisian Association for the Defence of Individual Liberties and legal researcher. He has participated in several research and advocacy activities on human rights in general and individual freedoms in particular in the Tunisian context.


Ridha Tlili

Born in 1977 in Sidi Bouzid, Ridha Tlili is a director. His pseudonym Ayan Ken is also the title of one of his films. He graduated from ISAMM in 2003, and his graduation film "Rien à signaler" won a special mention from the jury at the FIFAK 2003. In 2004, he continued his studies at the Ecole Supérieure d'Audiovisuel et du Cinéma - ESAC (Tunis) where he obtained a second diploma in Audiovisual and Cinema Sciences in 2008.

In 2007, he directed his first professional short film "Ayan Ken" which won him the prize for direction at the International Short Film Festival in Taghit, Algeria.

He co-directed "Controlling and punishment", which was selected at the Cinéma du Réel and received the "European Cinema" audience award. Filmography: 2007: "Ayan Ken" (CM, 2007), "Bas Bord" (CM, 2009), "Teriague" (CM, 2009), "Jiha" 2011, "Revolution under 5'" (Documentary, 2011), "Controlling and punishment", 2014.
