Concerned and worried about the turn of events from July 25, 2021, with the announcement by the President of the Republic of the state of emergency by activating article 80 of the Constitution, after the publication of '' a "provisional organization of powers" on September 22, 2021, the Tunisian association for the defense of individual freedoms (ADLI), L'Art Rue and the Faculty of legal, political and social sciences of Tunis are offering a series of evening - debates within the framework of the DPDW Civic Space program on “The state of emergency” to try to understand what is happening and especially to analyze the implications of such a situation on rights and freedoms.
In this framework, Professor Wahid Ferchichi invites Professor of Law and human rights activist Hafidha Chekir and Professor of Law Aymen Zaghdoudi to take part in the debate he is facilitating on Tuesday, 2 November 2021 at 7pm live and online from our Facebook page L'Art Rue - الشارع فن.
The evening will also be broadcast on the pages of ADLI and the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences of Tunis.
About the panelists
Hafidha Chekir is a professor of Public Law at the University of Tunis el Manar, a feminist and human rights activist; current vice-president of The International Federation of Human Rights, author of various studies on women's rights and economic, social and cultural rights.
Aymen Zaghdoudi is a doctor of law and lecturer at the University of Manouba; a specialist in freedom of expression; author of numerous studies and has just published a report with ADLI on "Economic, social and cultural rights during the period of exception".
Wahid Ferchichi is a professor of public law at the University of Carthage, director of the department of public law and political science at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of Tunis, where he co-directs the master's degree in human rights and coordinates the legal clinic on gender-based violence.
