Join us for an evening of reflection on Wednesday, May 8 at 7:30 pm, to be broadcasted live on our platforms YouTube, X and Facebook. This debate will focus on the theme: Civic Space " A Year of Legislative Action: A Minimal Legislative Function? "

The discussion will be an opportunity to shed light on the past legislative year in Tunisia. This period witnessed Parliament pass various conventions, agreements and laws.

Wahid Ferchichi, moderator of the discussion, accompanied by Salsabil Kelibi and Lamine Benghazi, will highlight the state of Tunisian legislation in 2023, a year in which new members of Parliament have not placed rights and freedoms at the heart of their priorities. Civil and political rights, economic, social and cultural rights of Tunisian citizens and their environmental rights have been relegated to the background, in favour of the adoption of laws ratifying international loan agreements.

Faced with this alarming observation, this debate is essential to critically examine Tunisia’s legislative priorities and the challenges to be met in terms of human and environmental rights.
