L'Art Rue et Kabinet k
The result of a long period of 10 months of immersion in the medina of Tunis, the artistic residency followed by the show Khouyoul is a creation by the Belgian company kabinet k with Tunisian artists and children.
On stage, six children and six adults bear witness to the strength and integrity of human relationships. Set to music created for the show and performed live, the dancers seek a symbiosis, a unique alliance with the other, like a rider and his mount.
Khouyoul is a dance performance driven by an indomitable energy that crystallises a horizontal relationship between adult and child, offering the image of a harmonious community. A relationship based on esteem and trust: self-confidence and trust in others. The poetic duets between children and adults are a plea for freedom, but also for attention to others, respect and complicity.
Khouyoul features tenderness, an irresistible joie de vivre and the poetry of transmission, proposing an adult-child relationship based on listening and mutual respect. Khouyoul ward off hierarchical violence. It is an inter-generational choreographic round that shows a possible form of social construction.
