Eco-textile Workshop
with Chkarty
Chkarty, founded in 2020 by Teycyr Chtioui, is a brand that is fully committed to creatively and responsibly valuing fabrics from thrift stores to design unique bags and accessories.
The upcycling workshop proposed by the brand at this Summer camp, represents a stimulating initiative aimed at transmitting to children the essential values of environmental sustainability. In both fun and educational activities, the young participants have the opportunity to give free rein to their creativity, while assimilating fundamental ecological practices.
The workshop takes place in several key stages, from the introduction to the concept of upcycling to the meticulous sorting session of recycled fabrics. Participants are then encouraged to customize the textiles and acquire the basic skills in patronage and cutting for their creations. The next step focuses on artistic expression on canvas, incorporating acrylic and recycled textiles.
Finally, the last phase of the workshop is dedicated to the realization of the creations by sewing, with the assistance of a professional to put into practice the acquired skills.
