Sentiers Massarib Association
Sentiers-Massarib is a cultural association that contributes to the construction of a public space for debate by spreading cinematographic culture.
The cultural association Sentiers-Massarib works to create a public space for debate by promoting film culture.
Since 2017, the team at ‘Ciné-Sentiers de l'Enfance’ has been working to develop an analytical and critical approach among young people. It runs film analysis workshops at L'Art Rue and in various schools in the medina.
Insaf Machta, president of the association, is a French literature teacher and film critic. She leads film analysis, criticism and literary writing workshops in Tunisia and France. Insaf also coordinates film workshops at L'Art Rue and in surrounding primary schools as part of the ‘Ciné-Sentiers de l'Enfance’ project.
Created in 2017, the Sentiers association has been collaborating with Art Rue and Art & Éducation since 2019. Its objective is to promote film culture through film screenings and the organisation of workshops on image creation and analysis, with a particular focus on places that are disadvantaged in terms of access to art and culture. The association's actions are based on a vision that places art and representation at the heart of democratic and political issues. It considers creation to be a political act, where aesthetic expression becomes a unique reflection on collective life, rather than reducing art to a simple means of social engagement.
The association's activities are designed to be participatory, involving young people in particular as active participants in the process of understanding themselves and the world, as well as in the creative process.
