Saif Nechi
Born in Tunis in 1974, holding a Master’s degree in psychology, Saif Nechi has evolved as an advertising artistic director, co-creating the magazine BD Lab 619 and co-founding the blog BD soubia.com. His exploration of graphic journalism for correspondents.org was crowned with the Cairocomix 2 Award for Best Electronic Comic Book and a Mahmoud Kahil Award nomination, notably for "Tawahoch" and "Bombyx Mori," which earned him several awards, including Best Digital Graphic Novel at Cairocomix 3.
Participating in the exhibition «New Generation of Arab Comics Artists» in Angoulême in 2018, he founded Soubia, a specialized publisher. And he supervised the «Tazarka International Comics Fair» artistic department for the following two years. His projects, such as the co-publication of a comic on Tunisian-Egyptian folklore and his involvement in «De plomb et de sang», funded by Creative Europe EU, testify to his growing influence. Recently, his publications «Chabah1984» and «A Tunisian Revolt: The Legend of Chbayah» confirm his undeniable artistic and social commitment.
