Chawki Lahmar
Born in Tunis in 1990, Chawki Lahmar graduated from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Sidi Bou Saïd. He later embarked on an artistic journey, developing a creative and experimental process that highlights emotions, memories, experiences, scents, and the history of his country.
His work is a distillation of expressions and reveries, combining both graphic and pictorial elements. This approach allows him to position himself as an architect of both space and ideas, creating a dialogue between these two worlds.
Chawki Lahmar's work is pluralistic and multi-media, centred on the feminine principle that favours being over having, and combining both reason and intuition.
Through drawing and painting workshops that he provides to children and adolescents since 2015, he has been guiding, advising and supervising young people to develop techniques such as drawing, acrylic painting, charcoal, watercolor and introducing them to new mediums.
He has also developed group exercises: participatory drawing or participatory artwork.
