Besma El Euchi


Born in 1977 in Sfax, Tunisia, Besma El Euchi holds a Master's degree in Theatre Studies from The Institute of Dramatic Art of Tunis and a Master's degree in Art Theory from the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Tunis. 



As an actress, she has taken part in various theatrical experiments, including plays produced with director Fadel Jaibi, which have been presented at numerous international festivals in Italy, Japan, Korea, France, Germany, Argentina, etc.


Her theatrical works include "JUNUN", produced in 2001 and presented as part of the official IN programme at the Avignon Festival in 2002, "KHAMSOUN - Corps otages" in 2006, co-produced with Théâtre de l'Odéon in Paris, and "Yahia yaich/Amnésia", also presented in 2011 as part of the official IN programme at the Avignon Festival. 


Her first writing experience began in 2017 with the play Blood Moon, produced by Théâtre El Hamra in Tunis.


Besma El Euchi has been a drama teacher in secondary schools since 2002, and a cultural activist with the association "L'Art Vivant" since 2012.


She has been shortlisted for the RFI Theatre Prize for three successive years, from 2020 to 2022 and she has numerous film contributions to her name.
