Naceur Ktari


Naceur Ktari (Sayada, 1943) is a Tunisian director who studied in Paris and then in Rome (Centro sperimentale di cinematografia).  In Italy, he was a trainee at Dino De Laurentiis's studios and assistant to Roberto Rossellini on The Acts of the Apostles (1968) and Dino Risi on A Normal Young Man (1969). 


He made several short films before shooting Les Ambassadeurs (السفراء), his first feature in 1975, which won the Tanit d'or at the Journées cinématographiques de Carthage (JCC) in 1976.  


In 1999, he made a documentary on the Ichkeul National Park. He had to wait twenty-five years before making his second feature, Sois mon amie (حلو و مر), which won the Tanit de bronze at the JCC in 2000.
