Hoor Al Qasimi

Hoor Al Qasimi, the visionary force behind the Sharjah Art Foundation, is a key player on the contemporary art scene. Since 2009, she has provided Sharjah with undeniable creative momentum, orchestrating exhibitions such as "CAMP: Passages through Passages" (2022), "Khalil Rabah: What is not" (2022) and "Tarek Atoui: Cycles in 11" (2020-2021).

Her leadership extends to the Sharjah Biennale, where her curatorial role has propelled this event onto the international stage, as has her involvement in the Lahore Biennale in 2020. At the same time, she directs The Africa Institute and the Sharjah Architecture Triennial, underlining her commitment to the intersections of art, culture and society.

Hoor Al Qasimi has also collaborated with prestigious international institutions. Notable exhibitions include "Kamala Ibrahim Ishag: States of Oneness" at the Serpentine Gallery, London (2022-2023), and "Bani Abidi: The Man Who Talked Until He Disappeared" at the MCA Chicago (2021-2022).

Her role on the boards of Kunst-Werke Berlin e. V. and Ashkal Alwan, and on the advisory boards of various international art institutions, as well as her participation in numerous art prize juries, attest to her influence in the contemporary art world.

Trained at the Royal College of Art, the Royal Academy of Arts and the Slade School of Fine Art in London, Hoor Al Qasimi is a beacon of innovation and artistic vision in the contemporary art landscape.
