Iman Issa

Iman Issa works primarily in installation. 


Her practice investigates the political and personal associations of history, language, and the object, and often has a textual component. 


She has exhibited at major institutions including MoMA, the Guggenheim, Whitney Biennial, MACBA, Hamburger Bahnhof, the Art Institute of Chicago, Sharjah Biennial 9 & 12, and MuHKA, Antwerp. Issa has received numerous awards, such as the Ernst Rietschel Prize for Sculpture (2024) and Vilcek Prize (2017). 


She is professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.  


Born in Cairo, she lives and works between Paris and Vienna.
