"Amas de matière" by Bochra Taboubi

An in situ installation in Metlaoui, a phosphate mining town in Tunisia, questioning the speculations around the paleontological heritage of the region. A dialogue between the fictional and the natural sketches out a whole repertoire of chimerical creatures and forms suggesting a fauna and flora that could have existed.

Visual artist and product designer, Bochra Taboubi studied at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Tunis. She works mainly on artificial life with fictional creatures to create her own fabulatory repertoire that questions the human being. These biological and philosophical investigations take the form of drawings, videos and installations.
