Editorial Dream City Festival x x Festival d'automne x La Commune Aubervilliers
This autumn 2024, the multi-disciplinary Tunisian festival Dream City is coming to Aubervilliers at the joint invitation of the Festival d'Automne and La Commune, with the aim of making the area rustle, resonate and dream through a dozen creations by international performing and visual artists.
Founded in 2007 by choreographers Selma and Sofiane Ouissi, and joined by Jan Goossens, this independent festival is held every two years in the Medina of Tunis, positioning itself as an artistic crossroads between the Arab world, Africa and Europe. Dream City tackles contemporary issues such as migration, emancipation, human rights and climate change.
The festival is also known for its collaborative approach to programming: the programme is the fruit of a close and lasting collaboration between the artists, the city and the people who live there.
The programme includes theatre, dance, performances, music, encounters, visual arts, choreographed clubbing and DJ sets, for a sensitive journey spanning two major weekends.
