H2, the Israeli-administered area of Hebron, the largest city in the occupied West Bank, has been ‘sterilised’ by the Israeli army, evacuating its Palestinian population in favour of a few families of ultra-radical Jewish settlers. In 2017, Ruth Rosenthal began recording interviews with a childhood friend who had become a settler in H2. With Xavier Klaine, she expanded her investigation by interviewing Palestinian residents, activists, international observers and Israeli soldiers. This was the starting point for a gripping visual and aural immersion in occupied H2.
